What Are the Steps to Installing Synfig on Mac OS X?
Synfig is a great free and open source program for creating graphics. Robert Quattlebaum contributed many other people's contributions to create Synfig. The latest version Synfig SE 2.0 is available free of charge.
Synfig can be used for designing and animating many types animations. It is available for both Mac and PC platforms. It has an intuitive interface that makes it easy for even non-programmers to start the program. It also supports Flash files and Photoshop documents. It can also export animated bitmap images in JPEG, PNG, or PSD formats.
There are two main options when it comes to how Synfig animations will be used. You can either create an animation with the "Free Transform" tool which allows you to crop, rotate and skew your image while keeping the original shape. Or you can use the "layer types" to specify which layer of the image gets animated. There are many more options, but these are the main features of Synfig animation. You have the option to create a single layer and then add as many layers as required for the animation.
To add multiple layers to the animation, simply go to the layers panel and click on the new layers option. If you have an existing Synfig animation already, simply go to the layers panel and select from the items. Layer types make it easier to place your Synfig elements in an order that will be easy to modify.
To create your animation, you can also use Synfig canvas. You can simply click on the canvas to open it or you can use the Synfig Download Manager to go to the page where you can select your animation and place it on the canvas as a PDF. To add text or images to your Synfig animations, you can use Adobe Illustrator tools.
If you need to test your Synfig animations or do some reshooting, you will first need to install synfig. Go to the Synfig downloads site and download the software. It is quite easy to install and it will allow you to run your own Synfig instance even if you don't have any development experience.
