There are two main options when it comes to how Synfig animations will be used. You can also choose to specify which layer of your image will be animated using the "layer type" option. There are many more options, but these are the main features of Synfig animation. You can choose to create a single layer or add layers as needed for the animation.
To add multiple layers into the animation, go to layers panel and click the new layers option. If you have an existing Synfig animation already, simply go to the layers panel and select from the items. These layer types can be used to place your Synfig Layers in a way that is easiest to edit.
You can also use the Synfig canvas to create your animation.
