It's most likely a misconception that medical costs are the leading reason for bankruptcy (some research pegs it at just around 4%), but everyone agrees that if you're extended too thin economically, and after that you have a whopping medical expenditure on top of that, it isn't great. By the way, when the Affordable Care Act was originally passed, you had to pay a charge tax for going without health coverage unless you satisfied specific exemption requirements, including financial hardship.
(If you were uninsured in 2018, you will be penalized on your 2021 tax type for that.)So, sure, you might argue: "Hey, no charge. I do not need to get health insurance." You might argue that, but please do not. The Affordable Care Act has been stuck in debate for many years, partially due to the required charge, but whatever one's sensations about the ACA, we can probably all agree that it's a great idea to have medical insurance. https://zenwriting.net/almoda52e2/you-may-also-be-able-to-get-prescription-and-vision-advantages-with-an-avia |
